Grounding my Daughter gave me a crafty idea...

My daughter came home today with a Progress Report from her school. Overall she did ok but she had 2 D-'s & 1 F that she received on some individual assignments!!! I was NOT happy about that. So I ended up grounding her. I remember back in the day when I would get grounded for bad grades (among other things). My mom used to make me write the definitions of 100 dictionary words each night for a week. This was supposed to make me learn my lesson. Unfortunately it didn't make me learn my lesson but the one plus side was I became great at spelling big words. Well, I decided to revamp my mom's idea and put a little twist on it for my daughter. I created a worksheet (in Excel). On this worksheet it has room for her to write 5 dictionary words, 5 times each, write sentences (her own-not from the dictionary) for each word and then also write the dictionary definition for each word. This is something she needs to do each night...5 words per night. I know this sounds cruel but I now thank my mom for doing it to me.
Not only did I create this worksheet for my daughter but I also created a book to house them. Below is the book. In the pictures she looks pretty excited because I let her pick the outside design but don't let that fool you, as soon as I explained what the book was for, she was NOT as happy. So here is the book. Maybe you can find a use for a book like this. If you are interested in a copy of the worksheet, let me know and I can email it on over to you. Thanks!

Finally I will be able to get my name out there so people can see all of my awesome crafts...and hopefully buy them. ( I'm not one to brag though! ;o} )

Just a few things that I've been working like crazy on lately...

Handmade Baby Shower Decor, etc.

I was so excited to hear that my cousin was pregnant. I'm ecstatic actually. So when it came to throwing her a baby shower...my cousins best friend, my sister and I came together to make it special for her. I wanted to do something a little extra special though. Anyone can go out and buy invitations and decorations at a store in town but I wanted to make them all myself and make them very special for her! I did get some help from my sister, mom and grama assembling the inviations and party favors. It was an awesome assembly line actually. (I forgot to take pics of that day...sorry!) Thank you to all of you for all of your help! Below are pics of the invitations and just some of the decorations that have been made already. Once I complete the rest of the decorations, I'll be sure to post them.

***Karry, if you see this you have to act very surprised when you see them for the first time at your babyshower! ;o)

The invitation

The inside of the invite (personal info has been blurred out). Sorry it's kind of dark...it's the best shot I could get.

Confetti (sorry it's blurry)

WOW! It feels like FOREVER since the last time I was able to craft. I recently had surgery on my left wrist and arm so I've been out of the game lately. My sister inspired me to make her son's teacher an altered clipboard as a "thank you" gift. She didn't give me a time limit or anything but because I've been itching to craft I decided to do it now, pain or no pain! :o)
I've never made an altered clipboard before so I didn't do a tutorial on it. It was actually pretty simple. I'll be sure to do a tutorial on my next one.
Below is the finished product...I hope you like it!

Hi Everyone!
Today has been a very crafty day for me. I've been sick so I figured that maybe crafting would make me feel better. Well...it did (momentarily of course). I was going through some craft totes that I have and I came across some wooden frames. All of the sudden ideas started popping into my head. I'm super excited because my husband bought me a Cricut Expressions almost 2 years ago and I've NEVER used it (I KNOW...crazy!!!). I decided to bust it out and start small and just cut out some wording and little accents. I only have 3 cartridges but after today i will definately be purchasing more very soon.
Below are some pics of what I created today. I am happy with the way that they all came out. I mentioned them to a couple people today and I'm already taking orders. SWEET!!! If you have any questions on what you see, dont' be shy about sending me a message.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day...
